Medicare and Private Health Fund
Medicare
Rebates
-
If you are a Medicare card holder, ask your GP for a mental health care plan, or psychiatrist for a letter of referral. If your GP/psychiatrist approves this, you will be eligible for Medicare rebates.
-
You may be eligible for up to 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year
-
10 Individual Sessions (up to approx. $850.00).
-
10 Group Sessions (up to approx. $215.00).
-
-
Each time a review/re-referral is required, we will ask you to return to your GP to request this.
-
This is usually after the 6th and 10th session.
-
We will also write to your GP/psychiatrist to inform them of your progress.
-
Rebates cannot be claimed if the review/re-referral has not been received.
-
-
Rebates cannot be claimed if the session was not attended. Group rebates cannot be claimed if you attended online. Rebates cannot be claimed in advance.
-
Rebates are processed in batches usually at week 4 and 8 of the module.
Private Health Insurance
-
If you have private health insurance that includes extras cover you may be eligible for a partial rebate.
-
It is recommended that you contact your individual insurance provider for further information about your individual coverage for outpatient services.
-
We do not process private health insurance rebates, however we will issue you with a receipt to claim the rebate through your private health fund.
-
Typically, private health insurance will only rebate up to 3 sessions.
