             Employment Opportunity

The DBT Psychology Clinic is looking to employ part-time clinicians to work in our comprehensive and adherent DBT outpatient program. As a therapist at the DBT Psychology Clinic you will be a member of a therapeutic community of like-minded clinicians. You will focus on providing therapy within a safe, supportive and deeply caring environment.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning, be open to clinical growth and have confidence working with clients who have multiple life challenges. You will be proficient in providing all areas of the standard DBT model: individual therapy, group skills training and phone coaching.

During our weekly meetings we support each other in providing the best DBT therapy we can. It is also a place to learn, share and grow. Keeping up-to-date with DBT research and training opportunities is our philosophy. We love research and monitor the effectiveness of our programs with a range of measures.

We do our best to ensure that working at the DBT Psychology Clinic is a deeply satisfying experience. We have a strong focus on self-care and want you to go home feeling exhilarated rather than exhausted.

Previous experience with DBT is preferred. For those without this background, we are willing to support you through the 16-week online Foundational Training (provided by Behavioral Tech). However, five years of clinical experience working with adults is essential.

There are several non-negotiable requirements of the role. These include:

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency

  • training in Clinical Psychology, including Clinical Psychology registrars, and AHPRA registration

  • being a registered Medicare provider

  • having your own professional indemnity/public liability insurance

  • attending weekly consult team meetings on Thursday afternoons

  • being able to offer some clinical services outside of normal business hours

Remuneration is based on a part-time, casual rate. Weekly hours begin with four hours during training and a minimum of eight hours once training is completed. Maximum hours are dependent on how many clients you take on. Full time equivalent is $130-145k plus super, plus after-hours allowance.

In addition to being a part of the DBT team there is also an opportunity to develop your own private practice at the same premises.

If you would like to be a part of our team, we would like to hear from you. Please email us at info@dbtpsychologyclinic.com or call Tania Alexander, Bianca Dos Santos or Louise Fisher on 0434 595 195.
